Restless?

There is a scripture that says, in Proverbs 3:24
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”

For the past few days, I have been listening to a rain and thunder sound app on my iPhone . I love falling asleep listening to a heavy thunderstorm, and rain. The crackling of the lighting, dancing across the midnight sky, and the sounds of the rain pouring down on the rooftop, as if a thousand horses were racing across the roof, is relaxing to my soul. It always seems to be able ease me into a gentle sleep.

The only problem I have had, is that I would constantly wake up to the sounds, and then slowly drift off back to sleep. Don’t get me wrong! I enjoy every moment of a good, ole pour down of rain, and cracking whips of thunder, but with work in the morning. I like to stay asleep.

One night I decided to put on one of my favorite pastors. I placed my iPhone on top of my dark chocolate ottoman, and then allowed the sound of preaching, to played happily throughout my home.
That night I had the best sleep ever! I woke up the next morning, completely refreshed, and surprised! Not one time, had I woken up! It reminded me of the scripture above .... “He gives his beloved sweet sleep”.

The word of God had played gently throughout the night. Filling the atmosphere of my home with powerful words of sound teaching and giving rest to my soul.
Next time you find yourself, having a hard time staying asleep. Try the comfort of listening to the word of God. I tell you what, there is no other comfort, like it!

Have a Bless night in Christ, Love Sis Rashida

Pillar of Salt Syndrome

What in the world are looking you back for? Your past? What you could have, should have done? Hurts? Let me start with a story about Lot’s wife. For those that do not know this story or need just a little reminder, do you remember the woman who turns into a pillar of salt? Lot`s wife was a woman in the bible who turn into a pillar of salt, because she looked back at her past. Lot`s wife was warned by angels, to not look back at the city of Sodom and Gomorrah where she and her family had once dwelt. God had sent angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom and Gomorrah was a city ruled by sexual perversion and every other sin in the book. Therefore, God sent two angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. But First God brought Lot and his family out of the city that their life might be saved.

Let us fast forward to Lot’s wife. Now the angel of the Lord specifically warns lot’s family to not look back as the city while it was being destroyed. However, Lot’s wife chooses to look back and she h…

Green Tomatoes

I am a mother and a wife, and my life is always busy. So very often my chats with God, are during those quick moments of silence.

I could be washing dishes, doing laundry or preparing a meal. It’s those moments I hear His whispers, because my spirit is silent.

Green Tomatoes !! Okay, God I have green tomatoes . Look again, and realize why they are not ripening as quickly as you like them too. I hear him gently whisper to my spirit.

My mother has a vegetable garden in her backyard which has green tomatoes and red tomatoes . Sometimes we pick the green tomatoes, and bring it inside and allow them to turn red from the sunlight . My mother then places her green tomatoes on her kitchen window shelf, where the sun can directly hit them.

Her tomatoes always ripen quickly. If those tomatoes are not in the direct sunlight they take awhile to turn red. Allot longer then being in the sun.

In this Christ life, God wants us mature like those red tomatoes! Ready to be eaten and used. He dose not want u…

What is the purpose of life ?

One thing I am learning in life, is don’t waste anymore time! All that time and energy I have wasted complaining about things I can not change, can be time and energy well spent moving forward!

Keep pressing in, it does get better, if you just keep moving forward in Christ❤️

Philippians 3:12-14
Pressing Toward the Goal
12 Not that I have already attained,or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
