Don't be so busy...

Another one of my kids' drinks spilled  on my carpet. Pulling out my carpet shampoo machine, and back to work, it is!

There is always something that needs to be done, or needs my attention in this home. When can I find time to do Bible Study with my children today...

As soon as those thoughts popped up in my mind, the story of Jesus at Maratha's home came to mind... Note these verses...

38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Maratha was busy working, tending to things that needed to be done in her home; but her sister Mary, set aside time to be with Jesus. Christ is seen here in the scriptures telling Martha, that her sister choice of her time, was well chosen...

Chores will always be there
Weeds will always need pulling
Dust will always need to be dusted away

Quality time  spent with our Heavenly Father is what we need each day to make it through the day.  What has you preoccupied? Lay it aside today, it's not going anywhere and spend some refreshing time with Jesus .

Have a Bless Monday ... Love Sis Rashida

Pillar of Salt Syndrome

What in the world are looking you back for? Your past? What you could have, should have done? Hurts? Let me start with a story about Lot’s wife. For those that do not know this story or need just a little reminder, do you remember the woman who turns into a pillar of salt? Lot`s wife was a woman in the bible who turn into a pillar of salt, because she looked back at her past. Lot`s wife was warned by angels, to not look back at the city of Sodom and Gomorrah where she and her family had once dwelt. God had sent angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom and Gomorrah was a city ruled by sexual perversion and every other sin in the book. Therefore, God sent two angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. But First God brought Lot and his family out of the city that their life might be saved.

Let us fast forward to Lot’s wife. Now the angel of the Lord specifically warns lot’s family to not look back as the city while it was being destroyed. However, Lot’s wife chooses to look back and she h…

Green Tomatoes

I am a mother and a wife, and my life is always busy. So very often my chats with God, are during those quick moments of silence.

I could be washing dishes, doing laundry or preparing a meal. It’s those moments I hear His whispers, because my spirit is silent.

Green Tomatoes !! Okay, God I have green tomatoes . Look again, and realize why they are not ripening as quickly as you like them too. I hear him gently whisper to my spirit.

My mother has a vegetable garden in her backyard which has green tomatoes and red tomatoes . Sometimes we pick the green tomatoes, and bring it inside and allow them to turn red from the sunlight . My mother then places her green tomatoes on her kitchen window shelf, where the sun can directly hit them.

Her tomatoes always ripen quickly. If those tomatoes are not in the direct sunlight they take awhile to turn red. Allot longer then being in the sun.

In this Christ life, God wants us mature like those red tomatoes! Ready to be eaten and used. He dose not want u…

What is the purpose of life ?

One thing I am learning in life, is don’t waste anymore time! All that time and energy I have wasted complaining about things I can not change, can be time and energy well spent moving forward!

Keep pressing in, it does get better, if you just keep moving forward in Christ❤️

Philippians 3:12-14
Pressing Toward the Goal
12 Not that I have already attained,or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
