Growing in Christ: Be like Jesus

Everyday we all strive to do our Best, to represent Christ! Matthew 5 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Growing in Christ: Shut up!

Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Being redundant, is a must sometimes, to get a point across ! There were times when I would call my mother to complain about a situation, and just could not get her to join in on my pity party! (Laughs) She often would reply with remarks as... Put it in God's hands! You'll be just fine, or God will not let you suffer ! And her most famous reply is ...There is nothing to hard for God! Even though she would never join in on one of my pity parties. I found great comfort in knowing, that she would tell me the entire truth, in love; and get me to shut up, stop speaking doubt, unbelief, and negatively! Today, as I write. I am reminded of a wonderful story found in the bible . A story of a man name Zacharias, and his wife Elizabeth. Short verse... They had no children. She and he, were both old in age. An angel sent by God visited Zacharias, and told him, that they would have a child. Let's read Zacharias reply... Luke 1:18 18 And Zacharias said to the a

Growing in Christ: Spirit of fear

About a year ago, my now three year old son, had gotten himself lost. While attending my sister's back to school party, my son Jacob, had slipped out of the house, unknowing to us all!  After realizing he was missing and calling 911! The 911 receptionist had located my son. The receptionist said, that they did find a three year old, Hindu boy, in my area.( no my son is not Hindu! Daddy is from India, and we are Christians) My reply was..." That is my son!" Hahahaha !  Ever since that day, I have had a fear of losing a child. A crippling fear, that often has me opting out of doing many outdoors, activities! Instead of picking up Godly wisdom on how to keep my children safe. I had picked up fear! Today, I declare I am no longer afraid of losing one of my seven children! I chose to trust God with their care, and seek His wisdom on how to never lose a child again ! LOL The enemy would had, love for me to stay in a state of fear! To shut down, and stop living! But God has made

Growing in Christ: Give God the Glory!

I just love, to start my day with giving glory, and honor to the ONLY one, who has surrounded me with His mercy, and grace! Goooood morning King Jesus ! Goooood morning family and friends! Here is my spiritual breakfast for the morning.  Psalm 115:1-2 (NKJV) The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God 115 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth. It's so important for each of us to continue to get fed the word of God, daily! As the word reminds us here... Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Hallelujah!

Growing in Christ: Choices

The other day, my husband and I had reached a fork in the middle of the woods! We had to make a choice, on what direction to go . It's was either .. A... Trust God to meet a need, that looked impossible! B... Try to meet a need on our own, and not be completely honest to get it done ! As my husband and I discussed the situation. I just could not see myself choosing plan B! Being a Christian means all eyes are on our lifestyle , and that our faith walk in Christ is being seen! If we say we love God, we need to trust him no matter what! We are always to do Good, and not telling the truth, is never an option for me personally!  I was reminded of the story of Abraham in the bible . How he lied and told pharaoh the half truth about his wife. Abraham told pharaoh that Sarai was his sister, and not the whole truth of her being his wife. Though his intentions were good! As Abraham wanted to protected himself from being harm! He could had just simply trusted God, to work the situation out!

Scripture Sunday

1 John 4:9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Growing in Christ: Fix your eyes on Christ

Lately, I have been really putting into practice what I preach! Whenever I feel myself getting anxious about anything! I begin to remind myself of the word of God! I Stop, pray, and cast every care at Jesus's feet ! I am purposely fixing my eyes on Christ! What do I mean by that? Instead of looking at my  problems, situations, or worries! I take my eyes off of the situation and refix them to the word of God! Why? Because God's word promises in the book of Romans, that reads ...Romans 8:28  "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." God is always able to make it RIGHT! Hallelujah! Note this story in the bible... Acts 3:3 A Lame Man Healed 3 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those

Growing in Christ: God always answers!

Joshua: "Mommie I don't feel very well!" Me: "Well, try drinking some water, and relaxing to see if you feel better." Just a few moments later... Joshua: "Mommie, I feel better now! I went and prayed, and I don't feel sick anymore !" 1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” And my favorite verse says it all... James 5: 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. God always hears our prayers, and answers! He is always on time! Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus! Lord, You have always been faithful to Your precious word! What your words says in the bible, is True, and always goes forth and never comes back void!  Lord, remind those who are waiting for an answer prayer, that You have heard them and are moving on

Growing in Christ: My identity

Paul said it very well!...There are many things in life we can boast about! Many accomplishments, we can list! But put them next to means nothing! For these things do not identify who we are! For are indentity is only found in Christ, Alone! Our greatest accomplishment is living a Christ led life! Philippians 3  (MSG) To Know Him Personally 3  And that’s about it, friends. Be glad in God! I don’t mind repeating what I have written in earlier letters, and I hope you don’t mind hearing it again. Better safe than sorry—so here goes. 2-6  Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite. All they’re interested in is appearances—knife-happy circumcisers, I call them. The  real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ’s praise as we do it. We couldn’t carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it—even though we can list what many might think are impressive credentials. You know m

Growing in Christ: Christ our healer!

He is the same! Yesterday! Today! And forever! God still heals! Do you have the courage and faith to believe? Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Gooooooood morning King Jesus ! Gooooood morning family and friends!
