Growing in Christ: Give Thanks

My oldest son Javier. He often, shares many stories with me. On how his job went for the day. As a security guard, he not only secures the  premises, where he works at. But he also lends a helping hand, and opens the door for many people coming into the building, at his work place.
Today, my son spoke of a few people walking through the door, in which he held open. These very few walked in without a smile,  or a word of gratitude! My response was, just shut the door in their face!! Nooooo, I am just kidding! Hahahahaha
I expect him to continue to be kind and do his job 100% and more! Often time we as Christians are like this! Christ opens many doors for us in our life! From healings, needs being met, answers to prayers ...Etc.
However, we never stop to say a simple thank you! To bow our heads in prayers, and thank the One who does it all in our life! Or even lift our hands and worship the God who gives us the breath of life! We walk through life, like those men and women with an ungratef…

Growing in Christ: FIll your house up

Have you ever watch the show. "Extreme home make over"? Well, if not . The show is basically about homes, that are in dire need of a make over! Run down, broken homes, that need to be remodeled!

As Christians, our life was once like this! We were all dirty, filthy sinners in God's eyes; who needed an extreme make over!

We needed a savior ! God seen that need, and met that need, by sending His son. Christ, then came to earth and gave each of us an opportunity to get an extreme spiritual make over. Jesus basically cleaned house!

Like the show "Extreme house make over". They never, ever, just came in and just clean up, without bringing in new furniture! People are never left with just an empty house at the end of the show. And neither left with a new home, with the same old dirty furniture inside! Everything in the house is brand new, and the home is left full of new furniture!

When we become a Christian, Christ cleans house! Jesus also leaves us with a ton of new fu…

Growing in Christ: Scripture Wednesday

Psalm 23 (MSG)A David Psalm23 1-3 God, my shepherd!
I don’t need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction. 4 Even when the way goes through
Death Valley,
I’m not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd’s crook
makes me feel secure. 5 You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
my cup brims with blessing. 6 Your beauty and love chase after me
every day of my life.
I’m back home in the house of God
for the rest of my lif

Growing in Christ: I will praise Him

I'm Psalm 3434 I bless God every chance I get;
my lungs expand with his praise. 2 I live and breathe God;
if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy:
Woke up this morning and every inch of my body just aches! I could sit here and find many things to complain about, but I choose not too!  Today, and tomorrow and each day after! I choose to bless the Lord at all times! Because of Christ, I still have my breath to praise Him! Even through those difficult days!! Hallelujah!!

Growing in Christ: Why God

Well... Today my foot is still swollen! (from falling down the stairs at church) My sweet husband, has placed an ice pack on it. As this entire event happen at "Church"! A great question arouse from it.  "How could this ever happen at church?"  Let's take a look at this story in the bible. And it reads...
Acts 20:9-12 9 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. 10 But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” 11 Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed. 12 And they brought the young man in "ALIVE",and they were not a little comforted.
As Paul preached the gospel. A man fell down, and died! But because of God's grace and mercy! What the enemy meant to discredi…
