Spiritual Coffee: Applying God's word

I always love how God speaks to me through daily, day to day living.

This morning as I prepared pancakes and sausages for breakfast. I thought about the verse found in
Proverbs 15:1(NKJV)
15 A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.

Hubby and I on some occasions, will get into to debatable discussions! ( to put it softly, laughs). Sometimes those discussions turn into each of us sitting  at a corner of the couch; not even wanting a mere toe, to touch the other person!  (Laughs)

To cool rising tempers, a soft, and humble reply if always needed, to bring peace and oneness back into our relationship!

As I finished preparing breakfast. I took the hot frying pan off the stove, and placed it into a bowl of cool water! As the frying pan was being submerged into the water, it quickly sizzled, and than released steam, and cooled down!

Just as the heated frying pan eventually cooled down. A heated argument will come to an abrupt end, if we learn to apply the wisdom of God to our life!

Note this verse...
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Today, take God's word and apply it!

Heavenly Father, I love the word of God for it is...
Psalm 119:105
[ ן Nun ] Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Lord, Your word is great wisdom, and knowledge! It's guides me through life, and keeps me from destruction! I will not just be a hearer of the word of God,deceiving myself! But I will be a doer of the word; that I may grow in all that you have created me to be! In Jesus name , I pray, Amen!

Pillar of Salt Syndrome

What in the world are looking you back for? Your past? What you could have, should have done? Hurts? Let me start with a story about Lot’s wife. For those that do not know this story or need just a little reminder, do you remember the woman who turns into a pillar of salt? Lot`s wife was a woman in the bible who turn into a pillar of salt, because she looked back at her past. Lot`s wife was warned by angels, to not look back at the city of Sodom and Gomorrah where she and her family had once dwelt. God had sent angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom and Gomorrah was a city ruled by sexual perversion and every other sin in the book. Therefore, God sent two angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. But First God brought Lot and his family out of the city that their life might be saved.

Let us fast forward to Lot’s wife. Now the angel of the Lord specifically warns lot’s family to not look back as the city while it was being destroyed. However, Lot’s wife chooses to look back and she h…

Green Tomatoes

I am a mother and a wife, and my life is always busy. So very often my chats with God, are during those quick moments of silence.

I could be washing dishes, doing laundry or preparing a meal. It’s those moments I hear His whispers, because my spirit is silent.

Green Tomatoes !! Okay, God I have green tomatoes . Look again, and realize why they are not ripening as quickly as you like them too. I hear him gently whisper to my spirit.

My mother has a vegetable garden in her backyard which has green tomatoes and red tomatoes . Sometimes we pick the green tomatoes, and bring it inside and allow them to turn red from the sunlight . My mother then places her green tomatoes on her kitchen window shelf, where the sun can directly hit them.

Her tomatoes always ripen quickly. If those tomatoes are not in the direct sunlight they take awhile to turn red. Allot longer then being in the sun.

In this Christ life, God wants us mature like those red tomatoes! Ready to be eaten and used. He dose not want u…

What is the purpose of life ?

One thing I am learning in life, is don’t waste anymore time! All that time and energy I have wasted complaining about things I can not change, can be time and energy well spent moving forward!

Keep pressing in, it does get better, if you just keep moving forward in Christ❤️

Philippians 3:12-14
Pressing Toward the Goal
12 Not that I have already attained,or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
